Julia Cornish, Jennifer Kooren and Amanda Dillman congratulated CBA Women Lawyer’s Forum founder and current Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Justice, MP Kerry-Lynne Findlay, Q.C. for winning the Cecelia I. Johnstone Award, which recognizes women who have achieved professional excellence in their field and influenced other women to pursue legal careers, supported other women in career advancement or opened doors for women lawyers in a variety of job settings that historically were closed to them.
And Prominent Nova Scotia lawyer Trinda Ernst, Q.C. became the 5th female President of the CBA. Trinda, who has extensive volunteer history with Girl Guides, Rotary Club, and Babershop Quartets as well as the CBA has pledged to “hightlight the heroic – but often unsung- efforts that lawyers make as volunteers, ” (Lawyers Weekly August 2011).
All in all, a great conference and networking event. We’re already looking forward to next year’s CLC in Vancouver, British Columbia!
