A ring.  A Cadillac.  A kidney.  A “personal enhancement”.  Promises made and broken. 

Julia Cornish, on CBC Maritime Noon, discussed the colourful, recent case of a BC couple arguing over a ring.  The couple met on Plenty of Fish and were engaged three weeks later.  For better or worse, the relationship ended before marriage and the fiancée is refusing to return the sapphire and diamond ring worth $16,500. 

The debate encompasses moral and legal dilemmas and, of course, there are always the interesting dynamics of the cost of pursuing such a claim.
