Another engagement “bombs”!

Last week’s “ring feud” court case may be overshadowed by a recent decision from the United Kingdom that resulting in a finance being sentenced to a year in prison.

After realizing he forgot to confirm the booking for the wedding reception, the groom called in a bomb threat to the wedding venue.  The hall was immediately evacuated and emergency crews responded.  The bride evacuated and was waiting with her bridal party outside when, after no bomb was found, her family began to speculate about the source of the threat.  The police quickly traced the call to the would-be husband’s cell phone and he was charged with (and plead guilty to) communicating false information regarding a bomb hoax.

In court the accused claimed he simply couldn’t face his financee with the news that he didn’t confirm the booking and indicated that the wedding was the only thing she talked about.

Interestingly, this is a case of adversity strengthening a relationship – although it seems she may have “dodged the bomb” this time, the pair is still engaged.  How romantic.  Do you suppose she’ll smuggle a file in via wedding cake?!
