Her law school experience convinced Megan that her career would focus on people.

This decision was reinforced by her experience at Dalhousie Legal Aid, where she worked with individuals who needed assistance in navigating the legal system during times of crisis. This was valuable background for her work in wills & estates – Megan understands that planning can prevent the chaos and heartache that families experience if they are unprepared for the loss of a loved one.

After working with Sealy Cornish Coulthard as a summer law student, Megan was admitted to the Bar in June 2017. She received her Bachelor of Arts with a major in History and a minor in Law and Society from Dalhousie in 2013 and her Juris Doctor from the Schulich School of Law in 2016.

Megan is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, including the Wills, Estate, & Trusts section and the Elder Law section. She is also a member of the Halifax Estate Planning Council.

While originally from beautiful Truro, Megan enjoys exploring her new home of Dartmouth. As an animal lover, she is a particular fan of the Sullivan’s Pond geese.

In her free time, Megan can be found with her family, riding her horse, reading, and watching horror movies.

Whatever stage of life you are in, estate planning is critical - whether you are a young couple who recently moved into a new home, a single parent with young children, a middle-aged couple with grown-up children, or in your retirement years with a cottage property. Contemplating your death or incapacity is never easy, but protecting yourself in the event of incapacity and your loved ones upon your death is as essential as caring for them during your lifetime.
